During hospitalization some general check-ups are performed on the patient, as well as controls on his limb condition, possible bleeding, physical therapy, pain therapy, and corrections according to losses. Blood transfusions are to be avoided as much as possible unless the patient’s life or recovery is at risk and in case they are necessary, strict medical supervision will be required.Patients will be walking within between 24 and 48 hours after the procedure with the help of walkers and 6 weeks later without any aid.
During hospitalization the patient will be provided with preventive medication to avoid infection and lower limb thrombosis.
At discharge, the patient will receive written instructions on home medication, recommendations and alarm signs.
